The protection of our oceans against marine pollution will not happen solely at sea. We must address the causes that are a14> mostly related to what is happening on land. The priority for achieving this is to stop the flow of plastic into the ocean, because once once at sea, fragmented into microplastics, it is too late to recover it.

The problem of plastic waste is real and urgent. Faced with this challenge, KRESK 4 OCEANS wants to support an innovative, sustainable, and circular economy by committing to plastic from design to end of life.

KRESK 4 OCEANS supports research and the development of scientific and technological innovations based on the principle of reduction:

Reduction in the amount of plastic used (particularly in packaging)
Reduction of the material virgin integrated by designing from of waste
Reduction of the environmental impact of production.

KRESK 4 OCEANS supports economically viable solutions and innovations that extend the lifespan of plastic products:

The reuse that avoids the production of new products.
The recycling that enables the production of with waste.
Upcycling, which transforms non-recyclable waste into sustainable goods.

An educational program designed to raise awareness among young people about plastic pollution in the Ocean. Created by Plastic Odyssey, it invites students to become agents of change by creating plastic-free protected zones.

Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) supports projects fighting plastic pollution across the Mediterranean region. KRESK 4 OCEANS provides financial support to BeMed’s “Micro-Initiatives” call for projects.

The “Upcycling” project is a four-year program carried out in partnership with the Fondation de la Mer, aimed at developing plastic waste recovery sectors to transform waste into durable goods.
