Analyze and understand the impact of plastic

This scientific program is based on a multidisciplinary research protocol in a natural environment, mobilizing teams of world-renowned researchers, specialized laboratories, and a 28-meter laboratory sailboat dedicated to the collection and analysis of micro- and nanoplastics.

A expedition scientific sailing

On board the 28-meter schooner belonging to Expédition Septième Continent, a veritable floating laboratory, researchers collect and analyze plastic samples from the sea and rivers, between the surface and a depth of 100 meters. The aim is to study not only the presence of microplastics, but also the effects of the endocrine disruptors they release on marine life.

Three years of exploration are planned to better understand these impacts and provide new scientific data. By combining cutting-edge research with awareness-raising initiatives, Exploration Bleue is helping to advance knowledge and strengthen collective action to preserve the ocean.
