Acting against plastic pollution in the Mediterranean
Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) is a collective initiative launched to combat plastic pollution in the Mediterranean. The organization brings together foundations, scientists, NGOs and companies around a shared objective: reducing plastic use at the source and encouraging concrete solutions to protect marine biodiversity.
A unique and collaborative approach
BeMed acts as a catalyst by identifying, supporting and promoting innovative projects led by local stakeholders throughout the Mediterranean. Its role is to give visibility to initiatives that help reduce plastic pollution, share best practices and strengthen cooperation between countries across the region. This approach fosters lasting change, grounded in collective action and strong territorial engagement.
A positive and lasting impact
Since its creation, BeMed has supported and funded dozens of concrete projects, including citizen awareness initiatives, scientific research, plastic-free experiments and support for companies transitioning toward sustainable alternatives. By supporting BeMed, KRESK 4 OCEANS contributes to an international momentum that places the Mediterranean at the heart of the ecological transition and the fight against plastic pollution.
