An international platform to protect the ocean
This platform, currently under the auspices of the CNRS, is a a7> Foundation called upon to be hosted by the UN/UNESCO. This global initiative aims to provide decision-makers with transdisciplinary scientific analyses and concrete public policy recommendations for the sustainable management of the ocean.
Making ocean science accessible to everyone
Its mission is to gather and disseminate international ocean science, making it accessible primarily to policymakers and governments so that they can take the necessary decisions for the ocean and, consequently, the climate.
It will rely, among other things, on specific AI powered by verified and secure scientific data on the ocean.

An initiative by Françoise Gaill
The initiative was launched by Françoise Gaill, Director Emeritus of Research at the CNRS, expert in great depths and by Tanya BRODIE RUDOLPH, lawyer specializing in the field of maritime and environmental law. Two years ago, Françoise GAILL received a mandate from Emmanuel MACRON and the European Institutions to create this platform and to produce a report on deep-sea exploitation, currently under preparation, which KRESK 4 OCEANS will also help disseminate in 2025.
Accelerate and share knowledge about the ocean
IPOS emphasizes a demand-driven, action-oriented, and inclusive approach. It will provide tailored responses through a range of services, including rapid assessments, policy proposals, knowledge syntheses, and scenario modeling.
KRESK 4 OCEANS is convinced that this new, concrete tool will help accelerate knowledge of the ocean, ensure better consideration of all stakeholders, and foster faster and more effective political decision-making at the international level.
