Upcycling is a 3-year program, in partnership with the Fondation de la Mer, to develop plastic waste recovery channels to transform them into sustainable goods.
Thanks to this partnership, associations and startups - which have taken up the challenge of innovating from plastic waste - will be financially supported to enable them to reach a milestone in the development of their activities.
THE PROJECT
It is essential today to rethink our consumption patterns to introduce more circularity. Our UPCYCLING program aims to meet this challenge by combining ecology and economy through the creation of value locally from the plastic waste collected.
The KRESK Group, through its endowment fund KRESK 4 OCEANS, is very proud to commit itself alongside the Fondation de la Mer.

Conciliate ecology and economics
Upcycling is a way to create value by recovering plastic waste and reusing it as raw material to create a new sustainable object.
It is a form of super recycling that promotes the emergence of a circular economy. These wastes, which we no longer have a use for, can be transformed into materials, and even into products of higher quality or utility.
In the Ocean, our wastes are a poison. Collected on land and sorted, it is reinvented.
What is Upcycling?
La Ressource AAA is a resourcerie based in Orléans: as such, it collects objects whose owners no longer have any use for them, recovers them and redistributes them.
Tri-Haut pour l'Everest is a French association that has been working for 3 years to provide a solution for the treatment of plastic waste in the Solukhumbu, the Everest region of Nepal.
La Raffinerie is a multi-disciplinary Tiers lieux located in La Réunion, its raison d'être is: "A place and a collective, based in La Réunion, citizen, benevolent and resilient, committed to the promotion of human well-being, the preservation of the environment and the enhancement of cultural rights, through initiatives that encourage accessibility, diversity, collaboration, experimentation and interaction with its territory"
Dunkerque Clean Up is an association founded in 2019 by Dunkerque friends, concerned about the environment but above all motivated to protect their playground: the city, the sea, the port ... the northern coastline as a whole. Since 2019, the association has been organizing citizen litter picks open to the public, but also with private players in the area who wish to get involved.
Génération Recycleur aims to promote the circular economy by creating a unique and innovative experience.
The aim is to reduce the demand for new virgin plastics and close the loop by manufacturing sustainable with 100% recycled and locally sourced plastic.

The structures supported so far
Moi Jeu Tri is an international NGO present in 4 countries (Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, France), whose main mission is to train the citizens of today and tomorrow by involving African youth in environmental education programs, creating territorial ecosystems, training and integrating young people who are far from employment in circular economy professions, and supporting territories in their ecological transition.
